Meet Dr. Kelly
Dr. Kevin Kelly has practiced in the Palm Beach County/Treasure Coast area since 1996 and began his ophthalmic career as Director of the Retina Center at the Neumann Eye Institute in Deland, Florida. He joined Retina Group of Florida in 2012 as a Vitreoretinal specialist in Wellington.
Dr. Kelly graduated from Rutgers University in New Jersey with degrees in Chemical Engineering and Biology, and was a member of Tau Beta Pi, the Honor Society of Engineers. He earned his Medical Degree at Rutgers University Medical School, served his medical internship at Staten Island Hospital and completed his Ophthalmology residency at SUNY-Downstate Medical Center. Dr. Kelly continued his training by fulfilling a two-year fellowship in Vitreoretinal Surgery and Retina Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He earned his certification from the American Board of Ophthalmology in 1988.
In his practice, Dr. Kelly has focused interest on innovative treatments for diabetic retinopathy. He has presented at ARVO, the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, and was one of the first surgeons in Florida to treat macular holes.
Dr. Kelly is a member of the American Society of Retina Specialists, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Association of Research and Ophthalmology, and the Schepens Society. He currently serves as Treasurer of the Palm Beach County Ophthalmology Society.
Dr. Kelly resides in Wellington with his wife Linda and their two daughters, Gloria and Natalie. He has been an enthusiastic lacrosse fan for many years and maintains his passion for the sport by refereeing high school lacrosse games.
