Since its inception forty five years ago, this group has endeavored to provide the highest quality eye care to the residents of the Treasure Coast of Florida. Over the years, the current group of ophthalmologists has emphasized the the most comprehensive and up to the minute medical and surgical eye care.

Our physicians provide comprehensive ophthalmic medical and surgical eye care, with emphasis on small incision phacoemulsification cataract surgery, IOL implantation, glaucoma management, diabetic eye care and macular disease. As part of comprehensive care, we naturally provide more routine care, such as eye exams, periodic check ups, and management of most ophthalmic emergencies.

In our continuing effort to provide the most up to date eye care, St. Lucie Eye has added the GDx nerve fiber layer analyzer. This allows glaucoma diagnosis years early than was previously possible. We have added the Zeiss Optical Coherence Tomographer which provides cross section analysis of the retina and optic nerve, providing information not before available. This is combined with a digital angiography system that allows instant visualization of flourescein angiograms so that diagnosis and treatment are not delayed.

We recognize that our patient population is sometimes unable to travel any distance to obtain eye care. For that reason, we have staffed three offices in St. Lucie County to reach as many of our patients as conveniently as possible. As additional evidence of our concern for the community, we actively participate in community educational programs, seminars and health awareness programs.

Dr Channon most recently appeared on WPEC TV as a spokesperson for the EyeCare America program, and was also featured on WQCS, the area's National Public Radio affiliate.

Our Laser and Surgical procedures are performed either in our office surgical suite, or in our state of the art Medicare approved outpatient surgicenter. By taking control of our surgical facility, we can provide care that is cost effective as well as unexcelled in quality.
